Attention families registering children for Lakeshore Road Elementary School: For the 2024-2025 school year, Lakeshore Road Elementary (LRE) students are being relocated due to a building renovation taking place throughout the 2024-2025 school year. All LRE students will remain with their LRE student cohorts and be instructed by LRE staff. Relocation locations are listed below. Lakeshore Road Elementary Renovation Update
Dear Lakeshore Road Elementary Families,
We want to take a moment to update you on the ongoing renovation project at Lakeshore Road Elementary (LRE).
In December, Interim Superintendent Mr. Schiedo shared that construction delays will prevent the building from being ready for the start of the 2025-2026 school year as originally planned. We understand that this news may bring uncertainty, and we want to reassure you that we are committed to keeping you informed and supporting your family through this transition.
Plans for the 2025-2026 School Year
To accommodate the renovation delay, LRE students will attend the following schools next year:
Kindergarten – Cicero Elementary
Grades 1-3 – St. Margaret’s
Grade 4 – Gillette Road Middle School
We recognize that adjusting to a new school environment can be challenging for students and families. To ease this transition, our principals are organizing student visits to their respective schools at the end of this school year. These visits will provide students with an opportunity to explore their new schools, meet staff, and feel comfortable ahead of the new year.
Ongoing Communication & Support
Keeping families informed is a top priority. We will continue to share updates through ParentSquare, and more detailed information will be available on the Lakeshore Road Renovation website.

Babysitter Requests for the 2025-2026 School Year
Due to the increased student enrollment at Cicero Elementary, we will not be able to accommodate babysitter requests for the upcoming school year. We understand that this may impact some families’ arrangements, and we appreciate your understanding as we work through these space limitations.
Next Steps & Transition Planning
The Lakeshore Road Renovation/Transition Team will meet on March 25 to discuss further updates regarding the project and transition planning. Our goal is to ensure a smooth experience for students, families, and staff as we navigate this temporary change. After the meeting, we will share additional details to help families prepare for the year ahead.
