Cicero-North Syracuse High School welcomes 2025 National Honor Society inductees


On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Cicero-North Syracuse High School proudly welcomed its newest members into the National Honor Society (NHS) during a formal induction ceremony held at the North Syracuse Junior High Auditorium. The evening honored students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service and character—the core pillars of NHS.

NHS recognition is reserved for students who meet high academic standards while also serving their school and community with integrity. To earn NHS membership, students must maintain a strong GPA, exhibit leadership qualities, contribute through volunteer service and uphold exemplary character. Being inducted into the NHS is a significant achievement, reflecting both individual dedication and a commitment to making a positive impact.

The ceremony featured remarks from NHS President Andy Lin, who shared insights about the responsibilities and opportunities that come with this honor. Vice President Maddie Frisch led a heartfelt tribute to parents, recognizing their support in each student's journey. The Candle Lighting Service, conducted by the NHS Executive Board, symbolized the values upheld by the society.

A special thank you to Mrs. Alina Capria, NHS Adviser, for her leadership and guidance, as well as to Mrs. Kristen Hill, Executive Principal, who helped present the certificates to the new inductees. Dr. Christopher R. Leahey, NSCSD Associate Superintendent for Teaching & Learning, also shared words of encouragement, reinforcing the importance of academic excellence and leadership.

Musical performances by the Northstars Strings Pops Ensemble, directed by Mr. John Harnois, added to the evening's celebratory atmosphere.
