Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) registration is open!

The North Syracuse Central School District is accepting registrations for its Universal PreKindergarten (UPK) program for the 2025-26 school year. The UPK program is free to children who live in the district and are four years old on or before Dec. 1.

This program is partially funded by a state grant and is subject to the passage of the New York State budget. If your child is age-eligible for the program, they will be enrolled at one of the following sites below based on home/babysitter address, transportation needs and parent preference. All programs will be five days a week and follow the NSCSD calendar.

• Head Start (PEACE, Inc.) at Roxboro Road Elementary School (200 Bernard St., Mattydale, NY 13211)
• Learn As You Grow, Inc. (5684 South Bay Rd., Cicero, NY 13039)
• Learn As You Grow, Inc. (8381 Elta Dr., Cicero, NY 13039)
• Northminster Early Childhood Center (7444 Buckley Rd., North Syracuse, NY 13212)
• North Area Family YMCA (4775 Wetzel Rd., Liverpool, NY 13090)
• North Syracuse Early Education Program (205 South Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212)

Due to capacity constraints, the NSCSD utilizes a random lottery system for all applicants. Acceptance into the program is not on a first-come, first-served basis. Lottery applications will be accepted from Jan. 6, 2025 through Feb. 7, 2025. Registrations will continue to be accepted after Feb. 7 but will not be included in the lottery. Registrations received after Feb. 7 will be added to a waitlist and parents will be notified if/when an opening occurs.

To register for the UPK program, please complete all components of the required registration packet. Registration forms cannot be accepted until all sections of the packet are completed and the required documents are submitted to the registrar.
