UPK registration begins on May 10

Beginning May 10, 2017, the North Syracuse Central School District will accept registrations for its Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program. Registration on May 10 will be held at North Syracuse Junior High School from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. This program is funded by a state grant and is subject to the passage of the New York State budget. There will be no charge to parents. Students will be assigned to a UPK program based on a Lottery System and will be enrolled at one of the following:

Learn As You Grow, Inc. - 5684 South Bay Road, Cicero, NY 13039

Learn As You Grow, Inc. - 8381 Elta Drive, Cicero, NY 13039

Northminster Early Childhood Center - 7444 Buckley Road, North Syracuse, NY 13212

In order to register your child in the UPK program, you will need to bring the following documents with you:

1. Proof of residency (National Grid, OCWA or home phone bill, signed lease, mortgage statement),

2. Valid proof of birth,

3. Immunization records,

4. An updated physical, and

5. Parent identification.

The programs at Learn As You Grow are half-day sessions – either in the morning (9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.) or the afternoon (12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.) – five days a week, and will follow the North Syracuse Central School District school calendar. The program at Northminster Nursery School is a half-day session – either in the morning (9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.) or the afternoon (12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.) – five days a week, and will follow the North Syracuse Central School District. For further information regarding UPK at Northminster Nursery School, please contact Cindy Fowler at 315-458-2669.

Eligible children must live in the North Syracuse Central School District and be four years old on or before December 1, 2017. Classes will not be picked until July and letters will go out to parents on or before July 31. If you have any questions, please call Mary Anne Gorski at 315-218-2147.
