Family and Consumer Science
Family and Consumer Sciences
The Family and Consumer Department offers courses that are designed to assist students in developing “academics for life”. Our courses prepare students for entry-level job positions, post-secondary education positions, and for independent or family living. Students may choose to work toward gaining OCC/Tech Prep credit through several courses.
Beginning in 9th grade and throughout High School the Family & Consumer Science Department offers a large variety of elective courses, which are shown on the chart below. These courses enable students to reach mastery level and begin skill building for careers in related fields. These courses are "hands on" where students have the opportunity to apply concepts to real world situations.
